Meet Kyle and Deb

Meet Kyle and Deb—a couple whose love story started on Facebook. Deb, an Australian Citizen, and Kyle, who lived in Wales, met online in 2013.

They connected instantly and spent 18 months dating long-distance before their first face to face date in Wales in November 2014. Kyle and Deb became an official couple days after their first date and started making plans to build a life together in Australia.

Australian Dream

Like many international couples, Kyle and Deb wanted to close the distance and live under the same roof. But they knew Kyle had great visa options and they weren’t in a hurry. Kyle applied for a Working Holiday Visa and moved to Australia to live in November 2015.

After his Working Holiday visa, Kyle applied for a Student Visa to stay in Australia longer while he collected evidence to apply for a Subclass 820/801 Partner Visa to stay in Australia long-term. Kyle and Deb’s ultimate goal was for Kyle to become a Permanent Resident and eventually, a Citizen.

Navigating the maze of paperwork, evidence, and waiting felt overwhelming. Kyle and Deb wanted to get it right so they could build their future together.

Visa Journey

That’s where we stepped in. As Registered Migration Agents, we helped Kyle and Deb through the steps of their visa journey:

  • Student Visa: When his Working Holiday Visas were ending, we helped Kyle enrol to study and apply for a Student Visa so he could continue life in Australia.
  • Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801): While Kyle was studying, we helped Kyle and Deb collect evidence and apply for a Partner Visa, so Kyle could stay living in Australia with full work rights.
  • Double Partner Visa Grant: Kyle received a double grant of his Subclass 820 and 801 visas on the same day in February 2021.
  • Citizenship: When Kyle qualified, we prepared his citizenship application— in 2024 he’s now a proud Australian citizen.

Visa Success

“You’re stuck with us!” Deb used to say each time she would call to chat about the next step in the visa process. Today, Kyle and Deb are happily settled in Victoria with no more visa stress. They were happy and a little bit emotional at Kyle’s Citizenship Ceremony and they proudly sent us the photos to mark the occasion.

Kyle and Deb are a reminder that immigration isn’t just about visas—it’s about the life and the future you build together. It’s not about how long the process takes—it’s about moving forward, side by side, and cherishing every part of the adventure.

In the end, it’s the journey that shapes your story. When you’re building a future with the person you love, every step is worth it.

I just want to thank you AGAIN for everything you’ve achieved for us, your professionalism and approachability has been great, making what was a stressful situation for us, one that was not only achievable, but one that wasn’t as stressful for us. We are so very happy to continue working with you through this fascinating journey – hope you don’t mind being stuck with us also.
